Still quite tight and youthful, it shows nice cassis fruit, a bit of sweet vanilla, crushed dark stones, and dried twiggy underbrush on the nose. Still quite a bit of youthful tannin on the palate, with tightly-wound flavors of blackcurrant, iron, and graphite. Very good acidity too. Very good now with my shepherd’s pie but will be much better in 5.
