Chris Ringland
Barossa Shiraz
Nice and juicy, fruity. Has a bite at the end where I prefer a smoother finish

Sep 29th, 20182014 Chris Ringland (North-West) Barossa Shiraz:
My last Australian Mitbringsel left standing.
Appearance: clear, ruby with an inky hue, no CO2, some flocculation, no rim variation, moderate tearing, obvious staining and moderate plus viscosity.
Aroma: clean with a powerful intensity, youthful, jammy fruit notes of blueberry alongside boysenberry and blackberry, non-fruit aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, red roses, rich beef broth and tobacco, earthy aromas of dried mulch and clay and wood aromas of American Oak's coconut and dill charcteristics
Taste confirms the aroma across the board. Dry, medium plus body, (fine, pulverized) tannins, alcohol and acidity with a medium finish and complexity. Balanced.
Quite obvious conclusion: a New World, warm climate, young and concentrated Shiraz

Drinking 2014 in 2016. Juicy black currant and black cherry with a soft layer of chocolate notes. Medium acid and medium tannin. Fun expression of Barossa Shiraz, particularly for someone that typically doesn't love Barossa Shiraz
