Cien y Pico
Doble Pasta Manchuela Garnacha Tintorera
Okay, but not overly memorable in a series of Old vs New World wines.

Dec 23rd, 2016Looks like I'm in a world of dark wines this past week. This is Garnacha Tintorera aka Alicante Bouschet. At 6 years old, there is little degradation to the color. This is not very fresh in aroma, but is still going strong in terms of structure and mouthfeel. I don't think this is improving, but it still interesting. Paid with a Cuban inspired picadillo with ground beef, bell peppers, olives, raisins in a wine/tomato sauce.

Jan 18th, 20142008, Cien Y Pico, Doble Pasta Garnacha Tintorera, Manchuela. Hundred year old Grenache vines on their own rootstock. Heavy extraction and probably no fining nor filtering. Intense red and black berry flavors, countered with a lot of spice. Not your typical Grenache but very tasty. Glad I have 2 more.
