Can't say I've had many $15 Shiraz that were THIS good. It has elegant refined tannin, perfect balance in acidity, deep concentration without venturing too far into the Jammy Zone, and rich mouthfeel. Perfect as a combo for Roasted Tri Tip with Shiraz Butter, Green Beans and Potatoes.
If you like to cook, there is most certainly something to be said about making wine butter here. If you want to make red wine butter, use the wine you are serving with the meal to make the butter. You can make any batch, but may use up to a cup. It may seem a waste, but when you put it atop a flavorful piece of meat, take a bite, and sip the wine after, it is a combo to die for.
Sure - maybe dont use your Mouton to make Mouton butter, unless you can afford it, but use a good wine that you would ACTUALLY drink with dinner!
