Ok, 2014s turning 10 so gonna be exploring these. RP says 2014s are ready so bring it on!
Fantastic nose. It doesn’t jump out of the glass like TRB’s 4 winds from last weekend (I could smell that forever) but this one is a statement of elegance. Violets, black fruit, graphite, and mocha.
Great mouthfeel at the beginning. Fruit is wonderful, chocolate, but I will say that I’m here too early. Tannin sticking out - a little greenness to the tannin as well. Ends with drying pucker. I was hoping I’d be past that on 10th birthday. Just speaks to a better rating in the future. Would think 3-5 years until another one?

We had this 2 years ago this month and remember thinking it was tight and a bit tannic, but everything was in the right place. Since ‘14s are drinking well now we popped this to see where it’s at. At pop it smelled like blueberry pie, I thought it was going to be ready! Didn’t try. Had to go get a pallet of toilet paper. 3 hrs later... not a ton on the nose. The fruit blew off for the most part; graphite, cedar, and tobacco. Mouth is earthy, more tobacco, a little blackberry. Tannic throughout. End is dominated by puckering tannins. Will check back in two years. Don’t think that’ll be enough tho.
