Colene Clemens Vineyards
Victoria Pinot Noir

Ruby with elegant red fruit aromas and gentle floral spice, aged for 11 months in 30% new French oak. On the palate flavors of black raspberry and strawberry with notes of herb pepper, licorice with wet stone nuances. Soft full tannins on a long finish ending with fruit, herbs and savory earthy mineral notes. Very Nice, tasting well now!

Victoria named after Colene Clemens daughter, medium Ruby with aromas dark red fruits and floral spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum with cedar, black pepper and vanilla spice. Pronounced soft fine tannins, long finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with fruit, herb and sweet spice. Nice!

Jul 24th, 20212017 vintage tasted May 2021. Instead of dialing everything up to 11, the wine maker has chosen restraint over flashiness. The scent of rhubarb and nettles on the nose made me think this wine was going to be a bit harsh and puckery, But from the first sip it begins flirting with you, and, as it opens up, it becomes full-blown seductive. Just a hint of currants and ripe cherries on the front of the tongue. A silky tannic structure kicks in on the mid palate, and it perfectly balances a few amusing mineral high notes against some cooler low notes—the low notes are almost minty (Please don’t take that in a bad way because it really works!). This wine has a long finish, and both the low notes and the high notes continue ringing like little bells on the taste buds long after the swallow. You’ll want to pause and enjoy this finish before you take the next sip, otherwise you’ll be missing something special. Everything about this wine is understated sophistication.
