Dark earth tones wrapped in black fruit and well balanced with resolved tannins. Tasted at a wonderful IFWS dinner at the Leela in Mumbai

Dark reddish purple, almost opaque. Earthy nose with notes of black cherry, menthol, nuts, old wood and moist dirt. Good mouth feel with tannins resolved, leaving rich fruit and an above average finish. In a good zone. Needs air to open up.

Cool because old school. 1997. Unlike any Brunello I've had. (After this, they started making 'em all muscly and super-tannic.)
