Red fruit but the savory side of it; that crayola thing I am a slut for, clay, pipe tobacco, tomato jam, rosewood, incense, savory herbs and developed red fruit on the palate. They say you can only have this kind n Rhode Island but I feel like some Italians can have it too. Delish. — 7 days ago
2012 vintage. Might have opened too early. Rich red fruits and licorice. Tobacco. Dried cranberries. — 6 days ago
2007 vintage.
Dried Bing and Lapin cherries on the nose with hints of fig.
Plums, dark cherries, tobacco, sandalwood and dried roses.
Smooth well developed tannins combining well with persistent, yet still mouth watering acidity.
Such a gentle, smooth and refined finish.
It hurts me to say this is my last bottle. — 17 days ago
Very good Rosso di Montalcino! Especially with hard cheese and Italian bread! Would also be great with pasta, grilled meats, etc al. Just okay as a sipping wine but comes alive with food!Cherries, brambley fruits, low tannins, good qpr especially as compared to Brunello! — 6 days ago
2019 vintage. Last tasted 10.22.24 (9.4) and 3.20.24 (9.3). Tasted side by side with the 2018 vintage (9.5). Medium-heavy bod. Biggie, encompassing nose. Showing very well currently for an exalted vintage. Finish could use a touch of denouement as it's a bit wild as we speak. Yet, the entire package is fairly formidable currently. Another 4+ years should find this steering into smoother waters and drinking phenomenally. — a month ago
Joe DAscoli
Wow. Decanted 3 hours before serving. From Magnum
This wine had great smoothness to it. Balsamic and savory flavors coupled with some dark cherry fruit flavors.
This wine really hit on all cylinders given the age. — 2 days ago
