Corison
St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
My kind of old school Napa Valley wine. Full body, rich fruit flavor and beautiful hints of earth

Apr 30th, 2019Dark and sense with powerful aromas of Bing cherry, tobacco and dried roses. Medium bodied with polished acidity it opens up with ripe fruit and great structure. Blackberries and black currant explode with black plum and a note of eucalyptus drive to the mid palate. Ultra fine tannins bring out layers of smoke, graphite and savory spices on the decadent finish!

Jun 21st, 2018We were gifted almost a whole case of this wine for Christmas. This is bottle no. 2 I think. Gotta try to make them last.

Feb 20th, 2018About as beautiful as young Napa cabernet gets for my palate. Cathy's St. Helena bottling blends a few benchland vineyards together that really capture the best aspects of the valley floor while avoiding the ponderous, overwrought path. The balance nods toward Bordeaux but with the unmistakable fruity, dusty finish of Napa.
Cassis, cedar, chervil, green peppercorn and smoldering charcoal on the nose. The palate leans more plum, leather, dusty hot rocks and just a touch of oak spice. Bright acidity, generous and round tannins, a forever-finish and just 13.6%. Showing wonderful now with a short decant but easily has 10yrs+ ahead. Out of my usual budget and quite a treat! 👏🍒🌿🏞️

Dec 13th, 2024It’s been a little bit since we’ve had this but this was quite different than we recall. Much less acidity. I don’t know if that makes sense and wouldn’t mention it if we both didn’t say the same thing. Still just lovely, actually I loved it with toned down acidity. Is that just time? Doesn’t feel like enough time to make that difference?
