Very good - not great. Nose on opening was lovely with muted earthy dark fruits. A bit tannic on opening so not describing first glass. Next day the tannins and acidity were balanced and the flavors were again earth forward with dark berries, fig, balsamic with clove, tobacco/leather. Moderately long finish. All the components of a good Brunello are there - except for the “wow” factor of a pop of the flavors and layers of the experience.

See previous note: A bit more restrained than previous bottle, nose more mute…
However…a sip after a taste of Asado Negro( Bottom round in a sweet-sour onion sauce) ba boom! Bitter oranges, mint, oak, sous-bois. It has that tomato rubbed leather couch thing.A needle in a haystack find @ WTSO. Nice savory, almost salty quality. It rides that red/brown edge. I’m sure a few more years would be nice.

N: a bit alcoholic after a 1/2 hr decant. But, Smoke and tar. Definitely some earth. Lots of tarry, Sangiovese depth. Mint.
P: Lots of tannins up front, not obtrusive, black cherry compote, cherry liqueur, some wood but probably old wood, nice acid balance.dusty and dirty.
A @wtso bargain.

Great from the first drop. On opening very drinkable with slightly grippy tannins, juicy acidity, and a pleasant spicy melange of dark berries, tobacco, fig, & undergrowth. Peaked balance when tannins softened a bit at about 2 hours. Held strong day 2. Glad I bought a few.
