Very dark crimson red in color. The nose is very delightful with dark juicy ripe black plum, black raspberries and hints of vanilla. This Is one expressive Tempranillo from 70 year old vines of Ribera del Duero. The juicy plum continues through to the palate and full in the mouth. At three years old the balance is pronounced. Smooth tannins and a good chalky dryness. There are good soil notes with subtle oak tones on the backend. I am pleasantly at how well made this wine is. It will only improve with age.

Palate: dry, medium-full bodied, lively acidity, well integrated tannins, and lush texture.

Aromas of rich blackberry, some vanilla, and tobacco. Palate is dry and has niticable flavors of currant, some tobacco influence and some coffee. Nice full body with pretty good balance.

Very smooth & aromatic. Winemakers notes: This 100% Tempranillo is opaque purple in color and offers up a bouquet of candied fruit, espresso, creamy spices, incense, and assorted black fruits. It is structured on the palate with layers of concentrated fruit and sweet tannins.

Could have passed as a Bordeaux it was so good, but s wonderful red from my favorite region in Spain. Lively fruit, silky tannins and 100% tempranillo from a former Vega Sicilia winemaker.
