Wine Spectator 93 pts. I really like this wine, fairly light for a Tempranillo. Nicely structured. A great quaffer. Takes some time to open up.

From a great Spanish producer, deep red color with purple edges and aromas of dark fruits with smoky notes. On the palate plum and cherry flavors with cacao notes and citrus zest. Fine tannins with good acidity balance carries this wine to a medium finish ending with oaky tones.

Garnet color with cherry jam notes on the nose. Definitively red fruit characteristics here. Medium bodied, with very slight tannins if any at all. I pick up a lot of mineral notes in the taste, almost a strange fish-like after taste which is a bit off putting. Wife had the same perception even though I had not shared my thoughts with her yet.

Knew his very impressive brother, 2010, but like 2012 even more. Nicely balanced with perfect tannins.
