Was gifted this wine. Smells of red fruit and roses. Tastes match the smells but I also found a bit more caramelized fruit notes balanced with spice notes (cinammom, sweet paprika, baking spices). Some other lingering taste of apple skin or other fruit skin as well. Not as earthy as you would expect for a nebbiolo, but still very enjoyable. Can smell the alcohol content on the nose but leaves you with a nice warming sensation in the back of your mouth after drinking. Still paired well with a mushroom-forward pasta dish.

Lovely 2016 vintage, a bit rough at first but mellowed out over time. Heavy stone fruit on the nose, with surprising complexity for such a medium-light body. Paired very well with tomato/anchovy pantry pasta
