The Comet Alexander Valley Zinfandel Blend

Nice acidity. Moderate tannin. Still young. Will surely age gracefully over the next few decades.

A full-bodied blend of old-vine Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and carignan. Lots of black berries, tobacco, leather, and grippy tannins. Such a baby, this needs lots of air or 5-10 years in the cellar.

You need to open this up and let it breathe for a good amount of time. You will be rewarded with a superb glass of wine. Aromas of ripe fruit and spice greet you. Rich fruits, cassis and chocolate complement the tannins and linger making this a super pleasure to drink.

Initially closed & coarse, really benefits from air.

Was my favorite of the 8 or so wines I tasted at their Oakland Urban Wine Space.

Satisfying. Complexity abounds but still light enough to not over power.
