Nose has smoked raspberry, over-ripe back cherry, red currant jam, (minor) leather, cedar shavings, baking spice (?), un-cut red pepper, blackberry and light alcohol heat.
Palate has black cherry pastry, tart plum, slightly hydrated prune, blackberry, (minor) green herbs and under-ripe black currant. Medium finish, decanted ~1h really needs more time to open back up.
Decent pairing with slowly grilled/smoked pork spare ribs. Generally spare ribs are my Zinfandel go-to wine, but the Zin's at the house are either too young, or much too old to accompany. This CdR is a solid partner.

Wow what the heck is this budget stunner? Serious mineral driven raspberry nose and palate, I'm having difficultly letting the glass rest. This received a short decant, but didn't need much, this is a pop-n-pour star, generous to all. Can't believe this was $20.
Thanks @Lyle Fass

Translucent violet with fading at rim. Dark berry fruits, violets, and hints of smoke on the nose. Medium body on the palate with good fruit, medium+ acid, soft tannins culminating in a spicy, cinnamon finish of good length. $15.
