Nose starts with some reduction but those sweet sweet cherries are underneath. Stunning spice and with some coaxing now I am back in Jenins tasting with Jan Luzi. Gorgeous nose now. Enveloping and complex with great breadth. Fantastic palate with unreal freshness and purity and terrific acid and tannic (elegant) architecture. Dense and juicy with just awesome texture and refinement. My goodness the fruit is so good. Stunning. Fresh. Bursting and super super pure. This is even better than I remember. It’s got perfect balance and vibrates on its own plane. Brilliant wine! Terrific inner mouth aromas and structure to burn. Outrageous length. Wow. On day 2 this goes to a 9.6 as the fruit gets even more pure, a little darker and is just ultra delicious. — 4 days ago

Outrageous nose of peach, apricot, flowers galore and so perfumed. Elite hand lotion. Yes! Citrus, green tomato and honey. Certifiable freak show. Just glorious. Unreal palate. Such cut and precision and killer acids. Inner mouth florals are stunning and the balance is off the charts. Amazing purity and clarity. I love how the sugars just adds textures and roundness. Brilliant and rocking now but will age 30+. — 8 days ago

Pommard Rugiens 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2023
This is the best wine William has ever made. I am blown away. Holy shit this is a new level for “The Kid.” Outrageous nose of late season red and black cherry fruit but what really stands out here is the absolute clarity. Wow it smells like God’s jelly donut. Unreal 9.8 almost a 9.9 nose. I am not joking. The depth and purity of the aromas is off the charts. Under all that fruit is stones. Those Pommars stones. Like a Pommard rolling stone. Wow. Just sick. There’s spice and herbals. My goodness this is elite. This is just incredible work. The palate is just a knockout. The ultimate power without weight but also with the ultra concentrated tiny berry intensity that comes from the best grapes on the best bunches on the best vines. Just incredible. Elegance and just incredible power and never never heavy. The tannins are ripe and fierce. Chewy and dense. It’s early but this is ridiculous. 9.7 for now. But it will go up. Oh wow the fruit is so sweet. Extraordinary length and freshness. — 11 days ago

Thanks! Gorgeous nose. Big wafting mid season cherry and some cherry cough drop, some bittersweet Ovaltine, some spice and florals. Really fascinating aroma. So focused and singular. Gorgeous. Great color as well. Palate is so elegant and juicy. Like Bertheau Chambolle. Lacey, elegant and so juicy. Pretty pretty wine. With air this gotten next level elegant and has gotten more body and substantive fruit. Really persistent and impressive. Got sweeter and more de se with air but always nimble. Very good. Maybe a 9.5. After 24 hours the nose is gorgeous and is more of a wet earth type of thing, but lovely sweet cherries and spice. Palate floats and has unreal elegance, freshness and a classically Burgundian styled sweetness and great length. — 5 days ago

Haven’t had in 6 months and it was closed then but wow the nose is wide open now. Gorgeous citrus, apricot, herbs and stones. Really aromatic and very compelling. Palate is very 21 with just “wake you up” acids, a chewy density, and maybe 70% mineral and 30% fruit. So pure and what a finish. This is much more open than in January. Unreal finish. Almost 2 minutes. Wow this is tangy, super juicy and ultra clean. What an amazing finish. Just gorgeous. — 8 days ago
