Gorgeous wine and over a year since I have had it. Nose is mesmerizing. Sour cherry, cranberry bog, canned cranberry sauce, sweet mid season cherries and stunning deep earth. Licorice and a hint of strawberry jam. So brilliant. 9.6. The clarity of the fruit is just amazing. Such purity and balance and that hint of rusticity that is a trademark of the Hallburg site. The fruit is so clear, and echoing. This is so good. The elegance and finesse are top notch. Terrific structure and grip and killer fruit presence on the finish. Genius. — 3 days ago

One of my favorite wines ever. Tressalier and Chardonnay blend. Nose is rich and buttery like and old school Meursault but has so much sea air mineral expression it’s unreal. Gorgeous. Palate is stunning if a bit young. This needs air but the bones are there. Juicy, clean, pure, rich, like a Meursault but super fresh and textured. So elegant and dense. What a wine. Let’s see what air does. Getting nutty as well. 9.4 to 9.5 overnight. Stunning today. Fresh, textured and energetic. Icing on cake texture and so pure. Almost a 9.6. — 7 days ago

Such a stunning wine. The deliciousness factor is off the charts. Nose has deep dark black cherry, leather and so much limestone. The palate is just unbelievable. The most intense fruit, my goodness. So explosive with lots of grape tannin that is so absurdly sweet. Finishes so mineral. Not that complex but my goodness the fruit and intensity is epic. — 12 days ago

Just a brilliant wine and so unique. Richard has his own unique and enticing style. Nose is just amazing. Dried bark, lemon peel, gorgeous herbs and gorgeous and airy minerals. Stunning aromas and so high toned. Unreal energy and tension on the palate Superb. So juicy and deep but has an elite refreshing quality. So pure and perfectly balanced. Just a gorgeous wine. Gorgeously red fruited and boisterous nose. Red cherries all the way. Stunning stony aromas as well and unreal lift. Lots of red cherry skin as well. Terrific energy and chord progression fruit as well. Juicy, complex and very energetic and appears wide open at first but let’s see where air takes it. Wondeful acidify and freshness and lovely sour cherry fruit. Really fine and velvety tannins and I can’t believe how red fruited it is. Sweet and ripe tannins. Terrific inner mouth aromas with air and insane sweetness. A winner! Now with 7 hours of air it’s so stoney and classically Pommard. Palate is ample and juicy and super mineral with tangy red fruits. This is so damn good. Nose is so saline. So mineral and so focused. Ultra clean. Fantastic palate. Chewy, dense and so nimble with terrific freshness and purity. And my god this is like a liquid salt lick. Also a bit of lemon drop on the mid palate and finish. Succulent and sumptuous. Really round and incisive. Just utterly delicious. Can’t wait to see what air does. Long, lingering finish that shows off the supernal balance. Now some brown sugar on the nose along with sea breeze and meyer lemon. This is so good. Gorgeous nose of stoniness, sour cherry, herbs, limestone and some mid season ripe cherry. Really potent fruit aromas just jump out of the glass. Terrific stony and grippy Pommard structure. Really dominated by structure out of the gates. But it’s all there. Some deep cherry licorice after some air. On the nose and palate. Unreal fruit and concentration but anchored by freshness and energy. What length. Wow. This is insane. — 14 days ago

Love this site. What a nose. Deep and enveloping, with dark cherry fruit and some blackberry and unreal herbs, stones and complexity. An off the charts confectionary sweetness. Wow what a palate. Velvety and so sweet with stunning purity and depth. Insane freshness and elite finesse. Stunningly delicious and so complete. Wow the acidity is off the charts and complex fruit and sweet, velvety tannin is out of this world. The nose is so pungent and high toned yet deep and layered. After 7 hours this is gorgeous. Decided to compare 22 and 23. Oh man is this seductive. The nose is just deep ocean. Black cherry, dark red cherry, symphony of herbs, huge blackberry flower and blackberry and just so deep. The palate is just amazing. Opulent and just insanely deep with blackberry and black cherry fruit that is just so impressive and pure. Opulent and round and with insane purity. I adore this site. The texture is always on point. Restrained opulence is the calling card here. Nose is super complex and stoney out of the gates. Really a mess of limestone and some fresh hermes Then the intense ripe cherry leaks through. Black cherry, red cherry, sour cherry all at once. Nuclear levels of spice, stone and even some mulberry. Superb balance and energy with compelling sweetness and stoniness. Lush, plush texture that will get even more lush and plus with air. Very seductive. Oh man the tiny berry fruit intensity is off the charts. Juicy and so sweet but backed up by insane energy and stoniness. Opening by the minute. Terrific inner mouth aromas and just amazing velvety tannins. 9.5 for now but let’s see the go higher with air. — 8 days ago
