Domaine de la Grange des Pères
Vin de Pays de l'Hérault Red Rhone Blend
2012. Drinking amazingly well presently but has so much more to say. Heady aromatics of wet earth and meat flowers. Sublimely balanced.

1 person found it helpfulJul 31st, 2016On the nose, white pepper hits first. Then candied fruits and smoke unfurl.
On the palette, the tannins are a touch green, which is what I would expect from a Rhone of this age. The mouthfeel is plush and complemented with linze torte and barrel toast. Acidity is perfect. The components need to come together. This should hit 93 pts 3 years from now. Judging by the scores, mine is an outlier, which I attribute to my idiosyncratic taste.
A wonderful gift from my good friend @Martin G Rivard. Thank you so much.

2nd wine of the evening last night:
I've talk about this one before but I'll said it again....,,,why? Because it's that good!!
Awesome Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cabernet blend. Hard to get., sell out quick! Find it and drink it if you can. Awesome explosive nose., dark Crimson, I love the limestone, leather, flowers and red fruits. If cellared it will deeply reward you when you take your 1st sip......BUT then again., who the hell has 20 years to blow! Open it now, decant it for 2 hours and if this doesn't knock your socks off then you must already be barefoot!!
Cheers my friends!
@Ron R don't you wish you had your bottle right now???!!!😜😜🍷😍😍🍷😜😜

Slightly baked raspberries, plums, red currants, sage leaves, earth, tobacco leaf, spices, violets. Very fresh and elegant wine with a tremendous sense of terroir given the ripe fruit character

May 16th, 20162012. Seductive. Dark berries, roasted meats, flowers in heat, seamless transition from sweet fruit to toasty stones.
