Ridiculously complex and youthful. Dark and brooding. Absolutely incredible. Keeps changing in the glass. Mind boggling. Sage and bramble. I can’t stop smelling this

Medium garnet in color, this iconic red Châteauneuf-du-Pape has developed brilliantly since I first tasted it from barrel with winemaker Laurence Feraud. Well defined, pronouned aromas of raspberry and strawberry marmalade, cooked red cherries, dried herbs, charred wood, licorice, earth, mushrooms and iodine are bursting from the glass. Full bodied, concentrated and extremely dense, the 2007 Da Capo closes with a long, slightly alcoholic finish. It has probably reached it‘s peak by now, but will likely stay there for another decade. Drink now or until 2034.
