Smoky embers, macerated cherries, iodine, and dark-roasted herbs on the nose. Loads of earthy garrigue tinged bitter dark berry flavors. Lots of peppery alcohol on the long finish, though that may have been my fault because we had it on the deck on a warm day.

Nose of cherry, liquorice and oak. After 3 weeks of tasting unoaked or minimally Oaked wines in Italy (with a few new world exceptions) I have picked up better "antennae" for oak. Still a good CDP if not a little simple.

CDP is a savoury style and a long time favourite of mine. This expression is a little light in body with floral aromas with a tarry touch. Nothing special. Drink remaining bottles in next year or so. 16.

Much improved from my last bottle. This seems more 'classic' in that is shows juicy red fruits, mineral tones and a medium body. A good match to grilled pork.
