It’s dark fruited, powerful and savory, layered with spices, violets and game. It’s liquid velvet in the mouth with excellent concentration that gains with air, fine grained tannins and a superbly long, lifted, saline and mineral inflicted finale. A fantastic Charmes.

July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!
I’m not a big burgundy person (probably because I haven’t focused attention there and tried reputable producers), but this was big and powerful aromatically showing wild flowers, underripe black cherries, tar and herbal spice. Not thin nor overpowering on the palate. Acidity is still fairly high. More dusty and earthy toward the finish.
