The best village Gevrey, always punching well above its weight. Double decanted at 4pm to drink at 8pm. His 2012 has terrific concentration, intensity and complexity rarely seen in village wines. It shows red berries, exotic spices, minerals, lovely sous bois and gorgeous purity and texture. It finishes long with great lift and persistence. Fourrier can often be overshadowed by Rousseau, but they need to be in the same conversation.

Such potential, but I sometimes wonder what all the fuss is about a wine that doesn't express itself well straight out of the bottle, indicative of '12, but there's so many other producers that are capable of producing a wine at any age that has wow factor, maybe I'm missing something on this one.

Intense spicy red hots on the nose. Finely structured. Silky, supple, elegant.

Silky, Jayer-esque mouthfeel. The Fourrier style, as delicious as it is, is more prominent than Gevrey-Chambertin.

First Fourrier shake of the year...was fantastic with homemade chicken stew. Give it a little air and enjoy (or save it)!!
