More classic in style, the 2007 showed more tertiary aromas of leather, meat and smoke. Some red fruit (dark cherry) with some classic green notes. The palate was soft but balanced with med (-) tannin and soft acidity. Not a strong vintage but tasted in a vertical with the 2005 and 2010 which made it a very educational experience. (This wine came direct from Barge cellars)

Sep 1st, 20202007 still closed in and tight. Med body but still punchy for the region. Coffee, touch black pepper and dark fruit. Developed a lot once opened.

Nose of grilled meat and flowers turning to anchovy tappanad. Tastes of fruit with medium body tannins.
After 3 hours in the decanter, smells of sweet perfume with sizzling sugar. Tannins come through early nicely balancing the fruit.

This was fabulous. Fruity on the head, faint floral tail, very tart.
