Les Rocoules Ermitage Marsanne

Medium gold color with an intoxicating nose of quince, ripe peach, apricot and butterscotch. Waxy and viscous on the palate. This is a no-joke heavy marsanne but still manages to show some peaceful elegance

Delicious on so many levels.

Dynamite. Rich and fat but nice acids.

Now this is marsanne... Aromas of beeswax, honeysuckle and pineapple to start. This is a full bodied, full throttle white with a lot of viscosity and tropical flavor a packed to the brim. From a lieu dit where chave also gets grapes for their hermitage blanc. This stuff seems like it could age forever but it was darn fun to try last night

Hay, very floral, spring aromas, wet stream, things sprouting. Ethereal elegance yet concentrated and layered. Just a baby. Needs hours. 110 year old vines.

Day 2: Nose is more refined today. Lanolin, cinnamon, white flowers, minerals. Just gorgeous. Palate is elegant and rich, with wonderful concentration, mouthfeel and finesse and with enough acidity to keep it fresh 

Honey, complex, concentrated. Pure pleasure. Earthy and mineral nose. Long finish. Terrific and very unique. 110 year old vines. Juicy.

Truly incredible. Just bottled. Drank at room temperature. Oily and unctuous but with minerality.

Nose is elegantly tropical. Floral.

Palate is lovely. Elegant. Still you g and fresh.

Definitely has that northern Rhone spice and richness. Should mellow in a decade. Good with rich food.
