100% old-vine Marsanne from the Les Murets lieu dit which is predominantly east facing on the hill. This was the most powerful of the three Hermitage Blancs tonight. The nose was redolent of marmalade, honey, butter cream frosting, and slate. Luxurious texture with a long finish. Lovely with monkfish, sweet potato, leek, and winter truffle. The 1994 was initially a bit shy on the nose but after many hours in the decanter, it showed such amazing character. In fact, it shared some characteristics with a lightly peated single malt scotch, with light smoke, marmalade, honey, golden raspberry and wet stone. More of its character was unlocked with food. In this case, monkfish, sweet potato, leek, and winter truffle. Drink now through 2034+ — a month ago
In a nice place at shade under 10 years. Popped and poured and was surprisingly ready to go, though 30 mins in the glass helped for sure. Nice mouthfeel and density. Tannins are there but very well integrated. Good dark berry fruit and some pepper on the long finish. Delicious with steak and a pork chop at The Grill. — a month ago
2026: Lush, full-bodied Rhône Syrah. Lots of typical black fruits, herbs and distinctive black olive undertones. Subtle tannins - this is drinking well and leans toward smoothness and complexity over power. $70 at WT. — 3 months ago
Bright and fresh, good minerality. Honeydew, lime and salty air on the nose. Oily texture on the palate, with moderate acidity and fresh stone fruit character. Really nice! — 3 days ago
100% old-vine Marsanne from the Le Méal lieu dit which is predominately south facing. A wine of beauty and balance with notes of yellow flowers, wet stone and honey suckle. Surprisingly fresh for a 2007. Super delicious with monkfish, sweet potato, leek, and winter truffle. Drink now through 2037. — a month ago

Don’t always love southern Rhône whites, but this was really well balanced and tasty — 6 hours ago
