Domaine La Sobilane
Rivesaltes Grenache Noir
Languedoc Roussillon, France
Popped and poured; enjoyed with crème brûlée. The 1968 pours a deep burnished gold color with a watery rim; high viscosity and no signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with heady notes dried apricot, candied oranges, honey, nuts and spices. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is forever long, rich but not cloying. A fascinating dessert wine. Hard to imagine this ever going bad. It was brilliant with the crème brûlée. Drink now through 2068?
