low sulfur syrah, tight and gritty when opened, but has opened up nicely this morning. quick raspberry up, blackberry in the back, and enough bacon to make we want actual bacon. weygandt-metzler import.

Jan 10th, 2015Definitely NOT a wine for everyone. On the nose: bacon, funk and more funk. In the mouth: funky red fruit, Brett, bacon fat and herbs. Medium finish. I'm not sure it's traveled all that well from France. **update 2 hrs later** MUCH better. Most of the funk blew off, leaving a lean and savory Syrah. Much more of a fan.

May 13th, 2016Brett bomb. Smoke and cured meat. No fruit. I like funk in wine but this is too much for me. But interesting to try if you want a very forward example of those flavors.
