Domaine Laurent & Karen Boussey
Les Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay
Lovely nose. Mineral, lemon, nutty. So juicy and so compact. Sleek. Mineral. More later. This was drunk so quickly with my Dad and Stepmom that I barely have any note. Was rich as Charmes can be. Buttery and ripe but it had whiplash acidity and such lovely purity. Wet earth and mineral started to dominate for the last glass which was the best. Gorgeous wine. Needs 3 hours or 3-5 years.

Aug 13th, 2018I love boussey. The wines have that combination of dense but moderate fruit, minerality and acidity. And all of that is a backdrop to nicely delineated secondary flavors. Really so juicy too. Great with food.
The nose here is mineral. But minerals from petrified flowers. Really beautiful.
Palate is spring mountain stream wet rocks downstream of Macintosh and green apples. Ok maybe not exactly Macintosh but I love Macintosh so that’s what I’m going with. It’s my tasting note so buzz off.
Lovely mineral finish. Really lingers. So fresh.
There’s like a hint of meursaulty denseness and a kiss of unct (the single unit of unctuousness). Otherwise I wouldnt even guess meursault even with a. Hint. It’s so fine.
As this opens its richer and denser. Some spice on the finish.
Man I love this producer. I guess I said that already.

Gorgeous nose. Wafting minerality. Framing oak, lime zest, iodine, hazelnuts, superb classical nose. Palate is so juicy and explosive, superb density and cleanliness. So pure and sappy. Deep and super clean. Lean for a Charmes with awesome texture. Long.

Palate is rich with lovely minerality. Green apple finish.
Needs air. At least an hour.
As it opens more seashelly. Cleaner. More focused. Very well made. Some vanilla but integrated vanilla. Some tropical fruit.
