Jean-Claude Pichot’s family is one of the oldest in Vouvray, with origins dating back to 1739. 100% Chenin Blanc, with aromas of fresh tropical fruits, blossom and honey nuts. On the palate peach, pineapple and melon with lime citrus, vivid acidity, good balance with a touch of sweetness on the medium finish. Nice! Consistent quality.

Sep 24th, 2021I’m not on expert on Vourvray, but I think this is either on the sweet end of a demi-sec or the less residual sugar end of a moelleux. Lots of honey notes in any event. Low alcohol and medium plus acid (I would have expected more acid). Quite tasty with chalky minerals lingering in the finish.

Apr 24th, 2022This is a 2019 vintage opened April 2022. It is barely yellow and has a smooth floral aroma with a tinge of sweetness. The first taste is mildly sweet and again floral. Went well with broiled pink trout and sautéed spinach. Would buy again. Prefer a less sweet variety.
