Domaine Paul Pernot et Ses Fils
Bourgogne Chardonnay
Nose has under-ripe papaya, pineapple core, cut yellow apple, nondescript white florals and dry sandstone.
Palate has ripe pineapple core, lemon zest, light vanilla, pear puff pastry, yellow apple peel with slightly chalky notes to the medium finish. Excellent.
Testing out our new Gabriel Glas stemware tonight; almost like a (tulip) Scotch glass with a stem, really concentrating the aromas and with a wider bowl it's almost self-decanting. This was a great bottle to test them out.
I've mentioned before, never pass up the entry level wines of serious producers, they are great values, as their quality should be spread across the brand. So I'll be happy to drink the Bourgogne of anyone who also happens to make a Bรขtard-Montrachet.
