Trying a 2007, then a 2001 to see how wines taste as they are "Bowing out". 2007 smells old roses, there's a tartness there too, like sweet tarts. Tastes like it smells.
2001: smells as the Somm said it would - old. Reminds me of a jolly, gassy, old, round man. Tastes acidic, unbalanced. It was once a smooth wine, but isn't any longer. Not pleasant.
