Domaine Rolet
Tradition Arbois Poulsard-Trousseau Blend
Surprisingly complex wine for the money. Nose of smoked meat, broth, tea, stewed raspberries and black cherry with the palate following suit. Juicy and ripe with black tea, smoke, damp leaves, stewed raspberries and black cherry with just a touch of salinity in the finish. The only thing this is really missing is depth of texture and length but for $17... Excellent.

Nov 15th, 2013Took 3 days of sitting on the counter uncorked to open and show its stuff. Nice bright cherry - mineral balance. As expected light on its feet, but rather sumptuous and long-finishing for an Arbois. I think a handful of years will really allow this wine to show real character.
