2014 - Vintage Domaine Tempier “La Tourtine” 80%-Mourvedre 10%-Grenache 10%-Cinsault ( no Carignan in this wine) red rim mediums red color, a lot of other than fruit aromas earth,mushroom, sage, undergrowth, black fruit beautifully presented with medium tannins softening nicely. This is out of a magnum ( good time to start drinking but definitely some time left) they have different names on the label signifying different blends this is the La Tourtine but they also have “La Migoua” and just a Bandol with no designation label says 11%-14% ( I bet on the 14%)

Domaine Tempier. One of the great unsung wineries of France. This Mourvèdre just sings. Massive nose of Mourvèdre funk and sulfur. Palate is driven by rich blackberry with olive and saline. Longer finish and medium plus acidity. Still has lots of years in the tank.

May 30th, 2020Played second fiddle to a Dominus, but showed so well. Mourvèdre has been my personal grape of choice lately, and this beauty delivered. A stink bomb on the nose with mineral ore and macerated cherries on the pallet. This bad boy can go the distance and look forward to more of this in the future

Dec 8th, 2019This is incredible juice. Something that flew under the radar way too long, and now that i know, YES. Mourvèdre at its finest. If you like Rhône, jump on board the train. And at its price point, a steal.
