Great by itself but otherworldly when paired with Marta's carrot soup (which was topped with sautéed leeks.)

Great wine, highlight of a disappointing meal.

This was a Christmas wine from Raina a few years back. Just everything you want from Riesling. Extremely aromatic and flavorful. Searing acidity and pronounced minerality. Reductive and very dry, but so acidic it’s hard to tell if there was any RS. It might be 11 years old, but this wine is a baby. It drinks beautifully now, and probably will continue to for a long, long time.

I haven't had too many, but older Alsace Rieslings are rapidly becoming some of my favorite wines lately. This had a lime, citrusy and slightly peachy nose. Honey and stony minerality on the palate. It was slightly sweet but balanced so well with acidity. Great food wine. Perfect complement to a gem salad appetizer and deer frites and duck entrées.

Jan 21st, 2018Finally opened this fabulous Riesling on the roof with Will and Erika. I could drink this every day but then I would be a spoiled brat. Viscous, refined.
