Jun 6th, 2015I have long loved Dönnhoff, and will continue to extoll its virtues. The Nahe Oberhäuser Leistenberg Kabinett Riesling 2011 is simply put, a pulse-quickening example, with complex aromas of white flowers, Asian pear, shale, mint, and clover honey. On the palate, a tensile, arching backbone interlaced with peach pit and white grapefruit pith adds tension to shale-driven minerality. It's got a wholly appealing, racy, slightly bitter edge delicately rimmed in sea salt. In addition, fantastic length.
