Medium ruby hue. Aromas of earthy, plum, raspberry, smoke, and yeast--and more than a hint of Brettanomyces. Medium body; medium tannins; medium acidity; flavors of black fruit. Rather robust and rustic, so I suspect other varietals blended in. Medium length on a somewhat bitter finish.

I do not like wines with animal mascots. I also don't like cheap wine. But this is surprisingly good. It isn't complex or challenging. You won't taste a lot of nuance. But it is surprisingly tasty. And at $5 a bottle, you can do a LOT worse.
