Dual Varietal Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Syrah

My last of 3 bottles of 2016. More integrated than 2 years before and I think it’s at its peak now. Deep ripe dark fruits with cedar, black pepper, smoked meat, and light vanilla. The freshness on the silky palate is especially impressive - not an easy task given it’s a blend of Zin and Syrah.

Interesting blend of Zinfandel (50%) and Syrah (50%). Dark ruby/purple color with a violet rim. Aromas of dark berry fruit, black tea, pepper spice, dried herbs and a touch of barnyard funk. Juicy cooked black berry/raspberry fruit on the palate with additional flavors of black pepper, baking spices, roasted meat and black licorice. Touch of vanilla on the long and brooding finish. Full bodied, dense and quite powerful, but the wine is nicely balanced. Very approachable. Thank you for the wonderful gift, Ron B!

Delicious and surprisingly smooth. Paired great with my steak.

The ripe and sweet fruits belie the complexity and depth this bottle offers. There are subtle smokiness and meatiness. Plush palate. Finishes long and intense.

The nose is deep and opulent with blueberry jam, black cherry, nutmeg, black pepper, vanilla, and hint of cured meat. On the palate it’s rich , thick, yet silky smooth like melted chocolate, with touch of dried herbs. Ripe integrated tannins.
Very delicious blend.

Had this with sliced fried hot dogs in a barbecue ketchup hot sauce concoction. This wine is amazing. Subtle dark fruit smooth.

Spicy, dark fruits, balanced finish. Enjoyable!!

Restrained red fruits with solid tannins and medium body.

Good Syrah blend. Jammy like a Zin but finishes smooth and not too dry . Definitely worth buying again.

Umm Yum! Dry, tobacco, coffee. Next time I'll be having this with steak or dark chocolate.
