Ehlers Estate
1886 Estate St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
Great wine - What one would want in a Napa Cab - needs some time, will wait another 3-5 years to drink telco remaining bottles.

Jun 1st, 2018Ehlers has such a great story and mission in life. Their social responsibility and charitable contributions are reason enough to join their wine club and get wine all year. But they don't rest on those accolades. The wines are also exceptional, as is the packaging on this 1886 bottle. The French apothecary bottle certainly stands out with its pewter packaging and platinum etching. The 2013 “1886” spent 16 months aging in new French oak and another 6 months aging in neutral oak. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Petite Verdot. It can spend more time in the bottle, but hard to resist.

May 14th, 2017Saved this for a special night. Hints of cedar, vanilla. Fruit still terrific. Happy 2017.

Jan 1st, 20172012. Coolest embossed foil cap that is only on top of the cork, but that's not the important thing. There's nothing I could tell you that Ehlers reviews and reputation haven't already. One of our favorites- good for the heart!
