North island, east coast, this syrah of 4 plots is fermented with 1% viognier and sees a significant amount of new oak. Well made and a few people around the table (not me) preferred it over a N. Rhone of much higher price probably due to its sweet spicyness and approachable style.

Very, very nice. Almost purple in colour, woody on the nose, long finish. One of the best.
