Emidio Pepe
Trebbiano d'Abruzzo
Lots of apple at first but give this time and burgundy sneaks into the equation

Mar 19th, 2020First Emidio Pepe experience and it was a game changer. This was better than the Valentini I had a few months ago, but that's just my opinion. Honeycomb, bright tree fruit, mushrooms, almonds, hazelnuts, white balsamic, and bright acidity. Don't be confused by it being trebbiano. It isn't trebbiano toscana, it's an entirely different animal called trebbiano abruzzese that is actually complex and age worthy. This is what wine is meant to be!

May 6th, 2017Love the acidity on these wines, it's rarely found in Trebbiano, but as always this really outshines any others.

Jun 7th, 2016Man oh man. Really good. Rich fruit with that fresh Trebbiano flavor. Could not tell it was older.

Feb 18th, 2016Pulls off the texture and complexity that (in my humble opinion) Mediterranean whites must in order to not come across as heavy and tiresome. Excepting really awesome Balsamic, this is maybe the most interesting expression of Trebbiano I've ever encountered.
