Coudoulet de Beaucastel Cotes-du-Rhone Red Rhone Blend

We served this wine at my daughter’s wedding and I really never paid attention to it. I have about case left. Beaucastel does a great job at everything they produce, of course their CDP and especially the Hommage are outstanding. But this wine in this vintage is outstanding too. Great purity, red fruits and spice, full bodied and lush. Fills your mouth with a long burn making you go for the next glass. A great wine at an affordable price.

Balanced acid and tannins...red fruit with tart cherry and plum, feels higher in alcohol on the finish with some leather and peppery notes. I tend to like a blend that's complex and more fruit forward. I do like this Producer and think this wine would age well!

A bit of a disappointment... The highest grades came from the nose. Nice fruity spice aromas but it falls short on pretty much everything else. Balance seems off. Dry with Sharps tannins, brief finish and high alcohol. Even if it is considered as affordable for the area, the value doesn’t seem to be there. Still, I will rate it favorably just out of respect for the producer. This region produces some great wines but you will have to do your homework before getting a bottle. I completely gamble this one and it didn’t went as well as expected but it is not horrible either ... Happy hunting !!

Lovely wine recommended by the liquor store employee as a good one to decant. Used in a tasting with Scott and Ronnie. Lovely balanced flavors and food friendly. $22
