Fattoria La Gerla
Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Toasty nose of cherry pastry, cinnamon and raisin bread with black rose notes hovering in chocolate clouds. Dried red cherry round out the background. Chewy, bing cherry entry with lingering tartness wound around the expansive middle but unfolding into a refined and ridiculously sensual tar, silky tannins and cherry and strawberry-rhubarb freshness. The roses remain, wrapped around the worthy neck of this thoroughbred, mint, tarragon, and an interesting blood orange complete the mosaic.

Incredibly well balanced - this is the best Barollo I have ever tried to date.
