Gorgeous stuff. Mid season cherry. So pure. Wet earth. Spice. So pretty. Floral. Perfumed. Gorgeous. Almost Burgundian. Chewy and dense but also super fresh and lip-smacking. Succulent fruit. Great inner mouth aromas, ripe tannins and so so juicy. Awesome. Long.

I'm not sure I've had a wine evolve so much over the course of a 3 hr decant. Sharp vinegar > tart dark cherry > something punch you in mouth savory on the nose (cheese, mushroom, brioche?) > resembling integrated tannins and acid with white chocolate, espresso, licorice > back into predominant cherry, softer tannins, + tertiary notes. I dont know, an interesting ride and worth it.

Drank this wine with roasted potatoes and a bison ribeye which paired well. At first it was full bodied and then somewhat faded. Notes of road tar, berries and finished dry.

"a deep and vibrant wine with ripe sour cherry (typical of Sangiovese), cooked strawberry and apple. Has an almost tawny port feel, with caramel and vanilla overtones"
