This '13 Anderson Valley Pinot shows medium-dark color and gives an aromatic nose that telegraphs its complexity. Raspberry, black cherry and plum blend together beautifully with earthy notes and a light touch of oak spice. On the palate, the fruit is as big as Mendocino County, and just as pretty. A light, earthy touch gives a hint of savory and that bit of oak tops it all off. Stout tannins, for a Pinot.

Deep ruby with a prominent bouquet of vanilla, oak and maple syrup. There is ripe black cherry on the nose and palate. Silky and rather heavy texture - very much a warm climate pinot with moderate acidity and robust body. This is pinot noir that values flavor over finesse - good for the style.

Last had almost two years ago. This has peaked so drink now if have. Spice and tea accompanied by raspberry notes. Underrated. Have yet to see the ‘15 or ‘16.

Needed to test against the Walt! By comparison, much more balanced and well-rounded. Surprisingly I'm finding this continues to evolve. In such a short timeframe that concerns me. But to the victor goes the spoils. Still catching raspberry, spice, and tea, with some slight hints of rhubarb on the rear. I continue to be impressed by the '13. It's really underrated, especially considering the price. Sadly, the '14 was not as impressive. Eagerly awaiting '15.

25@costco. This is a really great pinot especially for the price.

Similar tasting notes. Still catching raspberry, tea and spicebox, but ends with chocolate ganache notes. Fuller-bodied. Lush and velvety from start to finish. Terrific value. The 2014 is out at Costco. Haven't picked up yet.

Bolder and not as sweet and fruity as most pinots.
