Serpico Irpinia Aglianico

This was sailing… meaty nose of rich burnt ends coupled with plum jam. Palate was viscous and mineral driven. S little too much acidity with a slightly citrus finish. Nice juxtaposition with the Siro, but this was always destined for second place tonight.

In a perfect place with nutty leather and dried cherry notes mixing with forest floor and a wonderful fires citrus peel quality. Drink now.

Prune predominated and too much heat. Hedonism gone overboard.

Typical tight nose of black fruits and licorice. Perfect poise on the palette with good density and length. Finished slightly tart, so I docked a few points as a result.

Stark, bold, savory, bright and acidic. A super baby. Gotta come back to this in a few years. Richness came out with air and it really went with #torcnapa's food well.

Pruney and chocolatey and dried cherry and singed herbs. Basically this wine (from a scorcher of a year) is at its peak. Lovely.

Gravel and dehydrated fruit. Opened beautifully.

Hot year but beautifully mellowed with age. Leather, mulberry, forest floor, great length, and surprising acidity given the year.

Love me some aglianico!
