Bright and refreshing. Slight fizz but I may be imagining things. Not bad for "inexpensive" wine.

Nice little #hungary #grunerveltliner quaffer from Trader Joe’s - Nice white floral and tart citrus nose. Not that substantial on the palate but you notice some slight spritz up front, citrus zest, touch of beeswax and solid acidity. It held up well to homemade falafel and couscous salad, even with a spicy pepper sauce. QPR is quite strong for $6.

Light-bodied with great acid and tartness. Green apple, lemon, and nectarine round out the flavors for a very easy to drink wine similar to an Italian Pinot Grigio. Paired it with an arugula salad with peaches and a chicken pasta dish that softened the acid and brought out the tropical fruit, honey and white floral notes. Great value for a really nice wine!

Kicking off my last week in Houston and toasting to an 88-degree day with a beverage I expect to come back to many times as a once-again Philadelphian this summer. And that, my friends, is a white wine spritz. Maybe that’s poor form with an Unti Fiano (🤤🤤🤤) but not with some single-digit swill (shout out Bunk from The Wire) from TJs. This is it, y’all. The beverage of Summer 2020. @Sam Shepard knows my bougie ass will be cutting it with Topo Chico while he slums it with Lacroix.
