Vintage Port Blend
Wonderfully balanced at 10 years old (from bottling) and in half bottle. Paired surprisingly well with a chocolate mousse cake to celebrate a family member's birthday.
All plummy, bramble, and slightly herbal wrapped with a throughline of taut, stoney intensity.

Really big rich fruit, very dark and almost impenetrable nose, a touch of liqourice.
Fills the mouth with masses of really fresh fruit. Very very smooth, magic intense lifting finish which goes on and on. Big underlying structure beneath
the fruit. Mouth coating, powerful, balanced, magic.

Barely drinkable. Check back for a good time in two or three decades...

1 person found it helpfulMar 28th, 2014Honestly this was selected to pair with a chocolate tart but solo or with the tart it was amazing. Not your typical overly sweet or mediciney port. This was an elegant red wine with deep red flavors and amazing balance. Likely my favorite port of the past 10 years. Decanted 3 hours before we drank it.

Sep 15th, 2019Very nice vintage port. Could use several (or dozens) of years to open up and mellow out a bit, but this has deep fruit and excellent acid regardless.
