I was really looking forward to this one, but was utterly disappointed. Almost bitter tasting and lacking character. Like a watered down version of what I had expected... Maybe just not a good bottle. Will give it another chance.

Dry, full-bodied wine that I paired with a peppery steak. Delicious, would totally drink well on its own.

Rather light color for Cabernet Sauvignon. Jammy blackberry nose. Sweet jammy taste. 2014 vintage. Abv. 13,5%.

I was at the winery many years ago the day that Sophia Coppola was up for her Oscar for Lost in Translation. I always thought of this as just a brand before that, but watching the tasting room volunteers beam with pride that day reminds me that the wine truly comes from the people that produce it. I know that sounds cheesy. I saw this in the liquor store for a decade before I bought it years ago. And now that many, many years have passed since those early wine years for me, I look at this wine fondly. Which is really what wine is all about.

Lights, camera, blackberry! I insist on doing my own stunts, because I’m a straight-shooter. I wear it all on my bulging sleeves and expect my grapes to do the same. This juicy nosed cab is a medium-acidity bite into a handful of just-about-ripe blue, black, and boysen, berries. Puts you to bed in your trailer with a velvety, mouth watering, tongue kiss, even though it’s just a quick siesta in between scenes.

Medium dry, nice body, hearty but not a heavy wine. Not sweet or fruity but doesn’t leave you dry or bitter. Smooth. -Laur D
