After a double decant and about an hour of air, this one was finally ready to go. I had reviewed a 2014 a little while back to determine that it is NOWHERE ready to go yet. Well? I'm not sure the 2012 really is either, but it is certainly closer than the 14. This wine poured a dark red with some violet notes into the glass. In the nose, this wine is dark black cherry and terroir notes. A little "dusty." The entry of this wine still has acidity although is definitely restrained. Black cherry and rhubarb. Black cherry middle with almost a bitter pomegranate? The finish is acidic, has a tannic character even still. This one is much more ready to drink than the 2014 that's for sure!

True to the 2012 vintage, fleashy and bright. Pomegranate, Rose petals, red dirt. Really great acidity, lovely food wine!

Consumed 03/2020. I was afraid that this one wouldn’t be any good. Many that I have been aging I have discovered are already on the verge of ruining. This being a 2012, that was my fear. The cork did crumble., but I was pleased overall. I miss my annual trips to Napa and the fabulous parties put on by the Gargiulo family at the release party.

One of my favorite vineyards to visit! This was better at the release party, but still yummy! Consumed 5/2019.

Consumed April & May 2018. Loved it when I had it at the release. Received my shipment Jan. 2015. The notes said to drink it then; better in six months. And that it would age nicely for the next 10 years. I was not happy with any of these three bottle.S. The first one, the Cork crumbled and I had to strain it decant it. It didn’t taste good. I let it breathe, still didn’t like it. Second bottle seemed a little better but still didn’t like it. Third bottle was like the first. I have two bottles left and will continue to cellar and see if that helps. Disappointed 😔

Red wine from Oakville that you can read the tasting sheet through...shows great varietal character.
