Castellum Cité de Carcassonne Merlot Blend

This is a full-bodied, thickly textured wine made from Merlot, Cabernet France, Malbec and Marselan. It has appealing flavors of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, plum, cranberry and violet. Cedar and clove attest to oak aging and, at 6 years of age, some tertiary notes of leather and forest floor are emerging. All this fruit is nicely balanced by silky tannins and the body is enhanced by 15%abv without ever feeling heavy or overdone. The long finish is the icing on the cake and the value price makes it even more special.

Balanced major Merlot blend by the guru of Southern French wine. Great everyday drinking wine.

Full bodied from Carcassonne. Nice surprise. Tried it with poulet au beurre and beef. Pairs well with red meat.
