Sour cherry, some plum, Oak, and a beautiful tar-esque finish that reminds me of an Islay single malt (getting Laphroaig flashbacks). Italy has always been where I've had a under $40 red that absolutely floored me with quality and exremely interesting non fruit primary flavours/aromas....this is no different.
